Post yg terdahulu, kite ade uploadkan gamba2 dari hasil kerja tgn kite pada sulaman benang (Thread Embroidery (TE)), so kali ni kite tengok hasil bahagian ke-2 sulaman benang kite, ok? Ar 1st, mmg payah nak mulakan smula coz after the 1st trail tu, terus x tengok2 TE, but at last i’d managed to get some of it in control, cthnye mcm Tenunan Timbul Picots (Raised Woven Picots), Jahitan Pekinese (Pekinese Stich), Jahitan Satin (Satin Stich), Jahitan Feather (Feather Stich), Jahitan Sayap (Fly Stich) dan Jahitan Daun Stem (Stem Leaf Stich).

Yg best skali, kite berjaya membuat Tenunan Timbul Picots (Raised Woven Picots (RWP)). Tgk dlm buku, cantiknye bunge matahari disulam with this technique. It looks alive! Tapi kalau x tarik benang dengan kemas n mantap, tulang belakang utk menghasilkan tenunan ni will loosen up. Jadi cam gelembung2. Apa yg dapat kite pastikan (based on my observation masa menyulam benang ni) lebar utk bahagian bawah petal tu kene lebar, kalau x, x cantik hasilnye.  Bahagian yg disulam @ dianyam berselang seli tu, x kan nampak mcm kelopak bunge matahari tapi jadi straight line tegak je ala KLCC.

Salam and greetings to all..

Almost 2 weeks in silent - i’ve just finished embelishing madihah’s costume! A project for my daughter. All started when her eyes captured the view of a huge advert hanging on top corner of each pillar. The fever for Miss Disney Princess is back in action!!! Last year, she missed the pageant, and now, she wont let it happen again.

So, nak x nak i have to ‘layan’ jelah kehendak dia. Next morning during lunch hour in d office, i’d started to search through some info on Disney Princesses. Trying to match her, which princess would suite her the most:

1. Snow White - gentle n loving (too gentle for madihah)

2. Cinderella - gentle n soft-spoken (her idol but also too soft)

How about…

3. Belle - the Beauty whom patience enough to face with the grumpy Beast and later give him her heart;

4. Ariel - headstrong (applicable to madihah) n naive

5. Aurora - gentle, loving n thoughtful (mm..sometimes)

6. Jasmine - exotic, strong n independent. (quite similar to her)

7. Mulan -a tomboy (not really)

8. Pocahontas - play full, free-spirited young women n loves adventures (play full? of course)

After in depth analysis on the characteristics of each princess vs madihah, i’d proposed Princess Jasmine to her and she’d agreed. Together we started to search for some pictures of Princess Jasmine’s costume.

After 2 days in searching for the kostume, k.syid - one of my friends proposed for me to sew the costume by my self - Great idea! So, startla process desiging the costume.

A different focus - TE

Since the new book from my sifu - Pn. RJ selling like hot cakes (i knew it coz pegi mane2 bookstore tanye sure abisnya..), terketuk pintu hati utk try sulaman benang dlm rekaan2 on my own baju kurung pulak. Yealah kan, campur tolak kristal, germstone, sequin + manik atas baju dah mmg dipraktikkan tp nak add in sulaman benang ni  lom pernah lagi dicuba. So, mlm tadi bermulalah episod D.I.Y berdasarkan rujukan buku2 Pn RJ (at last i manage to get her new books in 1 book store located at Kompleks PKNS. Sis yg jaga kaunter tu actually reserved the book to someone else. But, she claimed that the person did not come n pick up and it has been 2 weeks since the book arrived! So, apalagi, dia ulur, kitepun terus capai laaah! For me, rezeki depan bijik mate, jgn ditolak. Payment made, buku bertuka tangan, terus masuk dlm beg, peluk kuat x lepas dah.. heheee.. Melompat masuk kereta. Gumbira x terkata. Bukan nak ingat start enjin tp terus buka plastik cover buku!)

As usual, things needed to start TE are, needle (im picking 1 from my needles collection which had round eye n sharp point), cloth, hoop (ram) and some thread. Looking at the steps as shown in d book, i started to TE. Lets look at some of the results.. Read more »

After all the focus on the art of sewing, now we come back to beads embroidery (BE). As what had been promised earlier, we’ll proceed next technique on how to sew THREE BEADING BEADS a.k.a Manik 3 Serangkai (M3S).

Step 1: Buatkan 1 simpulan dan kemudian masukkan 3 butir manik pada jarum. Susup jarum berdekatan dengan susupan awal.

SLAMAT ARI RAYA to all.. lom terlambat lagi kan?

ape lagi nak cakap, cuma nak meluahkan perasaan hampa yg ter’amat’ sgt coz i’d lost most of the data On BE. Sebb, pencuri masuk rumah, angkut laptop, modem, tabung syiling anak2.. nasib brg2 yg besa dia x angkut. agaknye sebb itu yg cepat dan ringan untuk dibawa, kan?! nak menyumpah, dah tak tersumpah.. yg bole buat terima je la dugaan kali ke dua ni, redhaaa..

nak kate x buat backup, ade backup data kat dlm pc ofis, tapi x secomplete dlm laptop sendiri. kalaua de pun data cth mcm gamba2, kene lah di kecikkan balik smula. dan plak tu gamba2 yg dah di upload dlm entries.. sedeyyyyy… penat, kecewa.. ilang semangat sekejap..

bilik stor, tempat simpanan manik2 abis kene kumbah.. tonggang terbalik dibuatnya. skali ngan brg2 catering, mcm tongkang pecah.. nasib dia x angkut manik2.. ade jugak bagusnya sebb bila dah hampa tgk laptop ilang, action spontan kelam kelibut masuk stor tgk ‘manik2 ku’. Heheheee.. SLAMAT.. at least lah manik2 still ade.. berharga tu.. kalau ilang atau lesap tu mau terduduk x bangun2 dah! Masih ade manik it meand masih ade HOPE. Hope for what? For continue on BEADINGLAHHH..  tepuk2 dada sendiri, memujuk diri yg kecewa.

ari senin dah start keje. pegi ofis, buka email. Bila tgk senarai Q, queries, ucapan tq from the supporters.. terus tersenyum, alhamdulillah.. masih ade yg support. Tak sia2 usaha slama ni. dah almost 1.5 years start off the initiative utk sharing knowledge (thro blog) ni after few years of research/ literature review on BE.

Im honoured to share my recent Raya Collection 2008 - CENDERAWASIH, with all the BEs fans and supporters. May this design will inspired the rest to keep on beading with passion and spirit!

Why CENDERAWASIH? Coz all of u (my supporters and fans), i’d wanted to valued all,  just like how people valued the bird. Without u all.. my objective takkan kemane..and im not here today!

So inilah dia.. sketches atas paper. The sketches dpt ilham masa tgh dengar lagu ‘Lagu Cenderawasih’ by a local rock group - KRIS. The song was written by a famous song writer known as Sifu - M.Nasir (i loved all his songs) and lyrics by Nurbisa.

Dear BE fans/ beaders..

Assalamualaikum,

Setelah sekian lama x contact sifu, on last 2 week i sent her an email after i received a new email about her newly published book - “BEADS, CRYSTAL & THREAD EMBROIDERY (SULAMAN MANIK, KRISTAL & BENANG).

Just look at the front cover, terpegun mate memandang. Dlm hati directly terus terdetik, “Cantik! I must have one!”. Itu baru tengok muka depan, belum lagi isi di bahagian dalamnye. Im really sure isinye akan lebih ‘cantik’. As what i’d learnt to DIY before this,(through her previous 2 books on beads embroidery), i must say that her illustrations are easy to follow. But that doesn’t filled my hunger on learning BE, that’s where it goes - i attended a beading course from FTIMdc. 1st time jumpa dan belaja dgn dia, terus jatuh cinta. I admired her so much. She inspired me to keep on beading! Tak kisah le utk side income ke, utk diri sendiri ke, mmg suka bab2 glittering and shimering ni.

That’s how i started to know her. Untill today, whenever i need verification and clarification on BE, her books will be my first reference. I’d followed her updates. Nak pegi jumpa, with so many things on my side (my son slalu sakit, works on weekend (rela paksa ni!), helping my hubby wit his food biz etc) kadangkalanya x diiznkanNya. Kene le sabar. But, i will keep on coming back to FTIMdc. Nak conitinue ‘MASTER/PhD’ pulak pasni in BE or seni jahitan. Insya allah..

So, kesimpulannye i must get the book. Insya allah .. i’ll pay her a visit soon..
