Almost 2 weeks in silent – i’ve just finished embelishing madihah’s costume! A project for my daughter. All started when her eyes captured the view of a huge advert hanging on top corner of each pillar. The fever for Miss Disney Princess is back in action!!! Last year, she missed the pageant, and now, she wont let it happen again.

So, nak x nak i have to ‘layan’ jelah kehendak dia. Next morning during lunch hour in d office, i’d started to search through some info on Disney Princesses. Trying to match her, which princess would suite her the most:

1. Snow White – gentle n loving (too gentle for madihah)

2. Cinderella – gentle n soft-spoken (her idol but also too soft)

How about…

3. Belle – the Beauty whom patience enough to face with the grumpy Beast and later give him her heart;

4. Ariel – headstrong (applicable to madihah) n naive

5. Aurora – gentle, loving n thoughtful (mm..sometimes)

6. Jasmine – exotic, strong n independent. (quite similar to her)

7. Mulan -a tomboy (not really)

8. Pocahontas – play full, free-spirited young women n loves adventures (play full? of course)

After in depth analysis on the characteristics of each princess vs madihah, i’d proposed Princess Jasmine to her and she’d agreed. Together we started to search for some pictures of Princess Jasmine’s costume.

After 2 days in searching for the kostume, k.syid – one of my friends proposed for me to sew the costume by my self – Great idea! So, startla process desiging the costume.

This is the preliminary sketches in my lil note book.
1st – The Blause; 2nd – The Belt

3rd – The Pants; 4th – The Overcoat

5th – The Headgear, necklace & earrings

Then, next step finding the suitable fabric. Balik kerja ape lagi, x nagoya, kamdar la jadi sasaran.. sambil2 tu berjalan la jugak keliling Little India kat Klang tu mencari fabrics + ideas. At last, dark purple plain satin + gold yg menjadi pilihan hati. Nak dptkan kale turqoise tapi xde, so proceed je la ngan purple color.

So, inilah hasilnye after the process of melakar pola baju, menggunting + menjahit. This is the blause. Satin purple with organza yellow utk lengan.

Bahagian bahu tu, purposely dijait kasi nampak puffy, kedut banyak coz if not x gempaq.. like a princess attire (kononnye)! Then i’d added with some dangling on the bottom part of the blouse. Senang keje, pegi Nagoya, beli jurai2 yg dah siap utk langsir tu.. jait kan je tepi2 blause.

2nd piece is the belt. Took measurement for waist, take a thin sponge n cut triangle like shape. Tampal je atas kain gold. Then, stich it so that kain tu x terbuka. Bahagian belakang belt, kite pasangkan cangkuk, senang bila nak pakaikan nanti.

The Belt – Before embelish

Last skali, seluarnye. Kite jaitkan bahagian pinggang dgn getah, plus bahagian bawah kaki seluar dengan getah cerut. Seluar mmg gedoboh (besar), tapi bila kene getah cerut, kain akan nampak poofy. Just like the usual Princess Jasmine pants. Then, bahagian tepi seluar, kite pakai kain gold utk make up the pattern. just to add lil bit of glamour touch! Gamba yg ini was b4 the embelishment work.

The pants – dah x tau nak reka tepi suar mcm mane dah! hemtam sajelah.. reka dulu patternnye than later draw atas kain gold and cut out!

The Headgear

This is the headgear. At first, i wanted to make a crown but it may took sometime for me as im not quite well verse with crystal n wire. So, i’ve decided to change it from a crown to a head band. It’s practical! jaitkan kain gold utk head band n cantumkan 2 end point of the head band with a getah cerut. Then, jaitkan 3 big acrylic stones in the middle like a flower (kind of) and some small maroon colored stones as the half filling. Itulah hasilnya. This is before i added some more dangling, to give lil bit different on  ‘da look’ (k.syid’s idea – thank you, n im really appreciate it)

After all that hard work sewing the blause, pants, making up the belt, it’s time to embelish the costume. I’d spent almost 1 week to get the idea n getting embelishment done. Most of the time, i’d used big acrylic stones and 2 cut hexagon beads.

The Belt – after embelished with big acrylic stones and some side pattern (x abis jait lagi masa ni.. utk pra tatapan lah kiranye yea..)

Finish with the embelishment, the due date for submission was on the 9th Nov. On 6th Nov, i’d took madihah to have a photo shoot in a studio – Kedai Gambar Kodak. The Pakage offered to us was 8 poses with all 4 R printing = rm 80. Terima je la.. kang x puas pulak anak dara sorang tu bergaya.. Posing punya posing, x perasan dah sampai 9 poses all together. The ‘tauke’ kasi chincai.. then kite pun ok je le.. janji next day bole siap and later that night bole pegi JJ Bkt Tinggi utk submit!

So.. Inilah dia – Princess Jasmine versi Madihah

And… gues what???? This Morning, i’ve received an SMS telling me that – Madihah was chosen for the odition on 22 Nov nanti! Alhamdulillah.. setengah dari penat lelah was payed off! Tinggal 1/2 lagi.. hopefully will doa from all of the BE supporters, insya allah..

Currently, tgh pening pk ape yg nak di kareografkan for her odition nanti..mmmm..
