Tanggal 26 June yang lepas, kami berempat (mak, adik, adik ipar & anaknye sorang umur 1 1/2 tahun + me) berangkat ke Jakarta-Bandung. Flight yg dijadualkan at 7am berjalan dengan lancar without any delay. We wake up early about 3.30 am and started to get prepared off to airport. My brother (dak yong) willing to sent us. Pagi2 bute, mata ni ngantuk lagi… I only managed to get about 2 hours sleep. Thats enough? But, fly early is usually my kind of choices. Cepat sampai kononnye..huhuuu

When we reached airport, the crowd is huge. Saturday morning, what do u expect? Right. So many Malaysian, flying to Indonesia. Kenapa la ye kite suka sgt ke sana? My big Q. For me (si tukang bawa), menunaikan tanggungjawab kepada bonda. She’s the one who really excited about the whole trip. Everything went smooth. We had about 30 minutes left before departure. Come and lets d pics do all the talking!

We arrived at about 9.10am Malaysia time. For uols info, Indonesia is 1 hour late from our time. I wont change the timing on my watch as i prefer it to be earlier coz afraid we might be late due to over shopping excitement. In the plane, the stewardess will gave u 2 forms to be fill up and these forms are for u to forward to the Indonesian Immigation upon your arrival. Please don’t miss place the forms or else u wont be going anywhere and stuck in the airport!

We were picked up by Pak Ugih – our driver (they call ‘supir (soopeer)’ in Bahasa Indonesia). I had arranged earlier with Pak Erwan but since he’s over tight with picking up tourist from malaysia, Pak Ugih also will do. The charges for 1 whole day touring by Pak Ugih was Rp450,000 = RM170 =USD49.732. Thats inclusive of all toll charges, tips to be given to the traffic guy (not the police man haa..), pertamina or minyak bensin (it means petrol) etc. So we just sit and enjoy the ride!

Our 1st destination was to Check In in our hotel – N1 which cost us Rp270,000 = RM90 = USD29.834.

We placed all the luggage within the hotel reception area (at the back of the counter), and be back after we did all the shopping activities in Tanah Abang (Block A) shopping centre.

As for the above dress/abaya, the techniques used were detached stiches (manik tabur) & wings of sequin (manik bersayap). Simple! but look at the output, marvelous right?

Shopping tips in Tanah Abang:

1. Never bargain if u dont really want to buy

2. Once u identify which shop u want, start to bargain with half from the mentioned price

3. But, dont really stay long for only 1 particular shop coz u’ll find another shop at different floor with same item sold and cheaper! Act like u refuse and walk away. The lady/shop owner will start calling u back and we can talk further la..!

Just came back from JB. Kelas di sana amat memberansangkan. All students were passionate to learn and everybody enjoyed the whole evening. Thanks to Allah the all-Mighty. After dissapointed by Hotels Crystal Crown, nasib terjumpa dgn khairul whom offering rental services to those required outside meeting rooms. Rezeki namenye..

Before we shared some of the photos on yesterday class, lets see some outputs from Jamuna’s. She joined my class in Ipoh. A very talented woman. I can see she’s a hard work one! She’s one of those yg very passionate.

Gamba 1.0

As for this ourput no 1, for a plain cream or white color cloth u may mix what ever color as u wished coz anything on white will do the tricks. But what we should concentrate is more on the design. A good design should balance and have its own story to tell. How interesting the story will be is all depends on the colors. Menarik color yg diletak atau diapplykan maka, menariklah cerita yg hendak disampaikan menerusi rekaan tadi.

Gamba 2.0

As for this 2nd pics, the design was beautiful. Corak yg menjalar camni mmg nampak cantik if we would like to apply atas blaus or baju punjabi.  Looking from the cutting, rasanye Jamuna is making some pretty suits for her lovely daughter? Or even though it’s not, it’s still look marvelous. If this is mine, i’ll add lil bit of forget-me-not kat tepi2 bunga2 merah atau a small flower to highlight the whole design.

Gamba 3.0

Untuk yg ini, penggunaan warna-warna yang lebih ceria dan menarik!. The flowers are neatly embroided. It’s TE (Thread Embroidery) for sure. On TE, jamuna doesn’t seem had any problems at all. As far as what she had told be before, she’s been practising TE. Well done!

Gamba 4.0

I don’t know whether this is her 1st attempt on BE. It looks like Jamuna still need more practices on BE. Bab kekemasan, masih lagi kurang dan perlu diperbaiki. Some stiches need to be neatly done. As for the leaves, color combination ok but quite big for a small flowers. Memadai dengan daun stem yg kecil. Untuk bunga2 yg kecil – flower bowl, a small 11/0 RR will do. Intinya x perlu terlalu besar. Once u used a big beads as inti bunga, ia akan menghilangkan seri sequin bunga2 kecil.

Gamba 5.0

Penggunaan warna yg ceria dan kontras. As for the blue stone, i would like to suggest a change to yellow stone would be better. Benang hijau yg disulam untuk corak daun, tenggelam. It will be sweet if design bunga dalam gamba 3.0 or 6.0 diapplykan di sini.

Like this one. So sweet. A balance design with good color combination. Looks simple yet beautiful.

X berapa nampak design yg cuba diterapkan disini. So can’t comment further. But for me if its a children clothes, it should be a design with some cheerful colors.

Post yg terdahulu, kite ade uploadkan gamba2 dari hasil kerja tgn kite pada sulaman benang (Thread Embroidery (TE)), so kali ni kite tengok hasil bahagian ke-2 sulaman benang kite, ok? Ar 1st, mmg payah nak mulakan smula coz after the 1st trail tu, terus x tengok2 TE, but at last i’d managed to get some of it in control, cthnye mcm Tenunan Timbul Picots (Raised Woven Picots), Jahitan Pekinese (Pekinese Stich), Jahitan Satin (Satin Stich), Jahitan Feather (Feather Stich), Jahitan Sayap (Fly Stich) dan Jahitan Daun Stem (Stem Leaf Stich).

Yg best skali, kite berjaya membuat Tenunan Timbul Picots (Raised Woven Picots (RWP)). Tgk dlm buku, cantiknye bunge matahari disulam with this technique. It looks alive! Tapi kalau x tarik benang dengan kemas n mantap, tulang belakang utk menghasilkan tenunan ni will loosen up. Jadi cam gelembung2. Apa yg dapat kite pastikan (based on my observation masa menyulam benang ni) lebar utk bahagian bawah petal tu kene lebar, kalau x, x cantik hasilnye.  Bahagian yg disulam @ dianyam berselang seli tu, x kan nampak mcm kelopak bunge matahari tapi jadi straight line tegak je ala KLCC.

Inilah hasil WRP!

Kelopak yg 2nd tu kite sulamkan ke depan skit dari kelopak no 1. Supaya dia nampak bertindih. Ini kes ‘try n error’ je, aleh2 menjadi pulak! Satu lagi my personal discovery, masa tgh menyulam tu secara x sengaja, hujung jarum tercuit skit benang dr kelopak no 1, bila dah abis sulam baru perasan. Tapikan, my personal learning xperience mengatakan, ini cara nak attachkan 2 kelopak sekali gus. Supaya, nanti ianya nampak bersame2 kelopak tu.

Next, Jahitan Daun Stem (SLS). Teknik yg ni kite buatkan batang bunge matahari. Simple steps. Yg utama nye, masa nak susup benang tu kene sengetkan jarum dan at least jarum disusupkan pd bhgn hujung susupan pertama.

Inilah hasilnye. Untuk daun bunge matahari kite plak, kite pakai teknik Jahitan Sayap (FS). From my observation, teknik ni lebih kurang same mcm teknik Jahitan Feather (FS). Sulaman digilir2kan kiri dan kanan. Cuma dlm Feather Stich kite x ikat lengkungan benang. So, gamba yg atas mula2 tadi, dah menunjukkan keseluruhan rekaan bunge mataharikan. Cume, x siap lagi.. insya allah..

Yg kat bawah ni plak Feather Stich.

I’d missed 1 cabang (kalau tgk betul2, obvious! kalau sifu nampak ni.. malu weehhh!)

Then, Satin Stich (SS). Tahap kesusahannye – xdelah susah sgt, jait lurus je. jarum kene senget.

Actually, kite sulam teknik ni dulu then baru masuk teknik yg feather stich (FS) tu. Kiranya, FS utk batang bunge lakaran kite ni le. Plan yg bahagian tengahnye will be fill up with either sequin bunge mangkuk 5mm ataupun pkai manik.

Ini gamba keseluruhan lakaran utk Satin Stich & Fethear Stich.

Next, Pekinese stich (PS). As stated in d book, we need to create a foundation, barisan a line of threaded back stich (TBS) in loose manner. Asasnye, kene buat Threaded back Stich (TBS). Bila dah ade tulang belakangnye then baru kite sulam ulang2 secara menyilang. Hasilnye, nampak cam tocang kan.

Untuk itu, kite stop sampai takat ni je. Next time kite sambung lagi. Tapi, bukan TE lah kot yea.. sebb dah lama sgt kite tinggalkan seni jahitan baju kurung dan BE. K?

A different focus – TE

Since the new book from my sifu – Pn. RJ selling like hot cakes (i knew it coz pegi mane2 bookstore tanye sure abisnya..), terketuk pintu hati utk try sulaman benang dlm rekaan2 on my own baju kurung pulak. Yealah kan, campur tolak kristal, germstone, sequin + manik atas baju dah mmg dipraktikkan tp nak add in sulaman benang ni  lom pernah lagi dicuba. So, mlm tadi bermulalah episod D.I.Y berdasarkan rujukan buku2 Pn RJ (at last i manage to get her new books in 1 book store located at Kompleks PKNS. Sis yg jaga kaunter tu actually reserved the book to someone else. But, she claimed that the person did not come n pick up and it has been 2 weeks since the book arrived! So, apalagi, dia ulur, kitepun terus capai laaah! For me, rezeki depan bijik mate, jgn ditolak. Payment made, buku bertuka tangan, terus masuk dlm beg, peluk kuat x lepas dah.. heheee.. Melompat masuk kereta. Gumbira x terkata. Bukan nak ingat start enjin tp terus buka plastik cover buku!)

As usual, things needed to start TE are, needle (im picking 1 from my needles collection which had round eye n sharp point), cloth, hoop (ram) and some thread. Looking at the steps as shown in d book, i started to TE. Lets look at some of the results..1st – Button Holes Stiches(BTS) (Jahitan Lubang Butang).

This is the result – 1st time TE, so jahitan between stiches pun x consistant. In d books, Pn RJ uses two different color thread to show the tone for her sketches. BTS dijahit utk membentuk kelopak bunga yg dah dilakar dulu atas kain. Lepas ni, bole try 2 kale yg berlainan pulak. Most important, get d technique right at the 1st trial dulu kan?!

Next, Chain Stich (CS) (Jahitan Rantai). Tgk pada some of the sample dlm buku, jahitan ni digunakan utk lakaran batang, tepi bantal n etc ikut citarasa lakaran masing2.

Ni, my work on CS. For me, rasanye quite easy after followed the steps shown in the book.

Yg ni pulak, my lazy stich flower (Jahitan malas?). i used 4 threads with 2 different colors just to show some tone here. Tapi mcm x nampak sgt kan? The colors look the same. maybe i should change and used contradic type of colors.

Ok tak? 1st time.. antara petals masih x consistant. Petalsnye purposely i sewn it that way, to give variation la konon.. kihkihhh..

Then, baksia rose – try n error buat silang2 gitu. kira menjadi la kan (ni kes angkat bakul sendiri puji)

Yg ini pulak bullion rose – waduhhhh.. mula2 buat berselirat. Xde bentuk bullion rose langsung!  This is my 2nd attempt. Berjaya jua akhirnya..

Kepada yg berminat nak try tu, rasanye boleh try. Dimana ade kemahuan disitu ade jalan kan? X jadik kalu, try la lagi..
